Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will join a specialist engineering team responsible for the repair, refurbishment and maintenance of a wide range of Ground Support Equipment.
The role will involve carrying out testing, diagnostics, planned and ad hoc repairs, maintenance, modification, calibration and manufacture of equipment down to individual component level. Work will be completed using approved engineering documentation, technical information and appropriate engineering techniques.
You will also undertake equipment certification and conditioning responsibilities, support and train junior team members and apprentices, and contribute to feasibility and development activities. This may include reverse engineering and creating supporting engineering documentation and test procedures.
Working within established engineering governance, you will provide specialist technical advice where required and ensure all activities comply with relevant policies, legislation, schedules and engineering standards.
Essential Selection Criteria
Candidates must hold, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience to, a Level 4 qualification and advanced or higher apprenticeship, or a Level 3 qualification with a nationally recognised engineering apprenticeship and relevant engineering experience within their discipline or specialist area.
Candidates must also be eligible to meet the criteria for professional registration as EngTech in accordance with UK SPEC.
BPSS clearance is required, and candidates must be eligible for SC clearance.
