Job Description
The Business Intelligence Analyst will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions, including dashboards and reports. Working closely with stakeholders and technical data engineering teams, you will gather business requirements and translate them into effective, reliable and scalable data solutions.
The role will involve developing, testing and documenting complex data pipelines, supporting the development of enterprise data warehouses and designing database structures to meet application requirements. You will develop and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures, work with data models to represent business processes and ensure data is complete, secure and appropriately governed.
You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop appropriate reports and dashboards, while contributing to development reviews to ensure solutions are standardised, reliable and maintainable. You will also participate in Business Intelligence working groups and manage priorities across multiple business areas.
Essential Selection Criteria
Candidates should have experience with ADF and Azure Analysis Services, alongside knowledge of data analysis, data modelling, data warehousing and quality assurance techniques. Experience across at least three of the following areas is required: data processing automation, data quality, data warehousing, data governance, business intelligence, data visualisation and data privacy.
You should have experience of full lifecycle development, including designing, coding, testing and correcting complex SQL models and scripts. Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and experience with software management tools including DevOps, Azure or JIRA are also required.
Previous experience within an insurance environment is essential, including experience working with Lloyd’s Managing Agents, MGAs, syndicates, brokers or carriers. Strong problem solving and communication skills are required, together with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
**Desirable Selection Criteria**
Relevant certifications in database technologies, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, would be advantageous.
