Job Description

The BI Analyst will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports and data warehouse solutions. Working closely with stakeholders and technical data engineering teams, the role will translate business requirements into effective, reliable and scalable data solutions.

Responsibilities will include developing, testing and documenting complex data pipelines, designing database structures, creating and optimising SQL queries and stored procedures, and using data models to represent business processes and information requirements.

The role will also involve developing reports and dashboards in collaboration with stakeholders, supporting data security and privacy requirements, participating in development reviews and BI working groups, and managing priorities across multiple business areas.

Essential Selection Criteria

A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, with strong SQL, Power BI and DAX expertise and experience working with semantic models. Experience with ADF and Azure Analysis Services is required, alongside knowledge of data analysis, data modelling, data warehousing and quality assurance techniques.

Candidates should have experience of full lifecycle development, including designing, coding, testing and correcting complex SQL models and scripts, as well as experience with version control systems such as Git and software management tools including DevOps, Azure or JIRA.

Experience across at least three of the following areas is required: data processing automation, data quality, data warehousing, data governance, business intelligence, data visualisation and data privacy. Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Previous experience within the insurance sector is required, including experience working with Lloyd’s Managing Agents, MGAs, syndicates, brokers or carriers.
Relevant database or cloud technology certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, would be advantageous.
